PSYCHEDELIC INTEGRATION THERAPY IN NJ, NY & CO
Psychedelic Preparation & Integration Therapy Sessions
Psychedelic experiences can open the door to profound insight, but meaningful change often happens through thoughtful preparation and integration. Together, we'll create space to understand your experience, connect it to your larger healing journey, and translate insights into sustainable growth.
Preparation, Integration, and a Harm Reduction Approach
Psychedelic Integration Therapy offers a space to prepare for and make sense of experiences with non-ordinary states of consciousness.
Preparation and integration are often overlooked, yet they play an essential role in how these experiences unfold—and how they are carried forward.
Preparation is the process of slowing down before an experience. It involves exploring your intentions, expectations, and the internal landscape you are bringing with you—your emotional state, current life context, and relationship to your inner world.
Integration is what follows. It is the process of making sense of what emerged—whether insight, emotion, confusion, or something difficult to name—and allowing it to take shape in your everyday life.
Research and clinical models increasingly emphasize that these phases are not secondary, but central to reducing harm and supporting meaningful outcomes.
Understanding set and setting
Set refers to your internal state—your mindset, mood, history, and intentions. Setting refers to the external environment—where you are, who you are with, and the quality of support around you.
Together, they shape not only what arises, but how it is experienced and integrated.
Work With Alein
Supporting Safer, More Thoughtful Engagement
This work is grounded in a harm reduction approach.
People engage with psychedelic and non-ordinary states in many ways—through substances such as psilocybin, LSD, ayahuasca, DMT, mescaline or San Pedro, or through experiences that are recreational, ceremonial, spiritual, retreat-based, or therapeutic.
My role is not to promote or facilitate these experiences.
I do not provide or procure substances, assist in finding providers or retreats, or support engagement with illegal substances or settings.
What I do offer is a safe, non-judgmental space to prepare for and process your experiences in a way that reduces harm and supports your wellbeing.
This includes thoughtful attention to readiness, intention, and the potential impact of these experiences—so that they can be approached and integrated with greater awareness and care.

A Space to Prepare or Make Sense of Your Experience
If you have already had a psychedelic experience—or have made the decision to engage in one—this is a space where you can slow down and be supported in relating to it.
There is no expectation to explain or justify your choices.
Experiences can be meaningful, confusing, expansive, or challenging. At times, they may bring forward material that feels unfinished or difficult to integrate alone.
Here, we take the time to understand what happened, what it meant to you, and how it may connect to your life moving forward—at your own pace.

Individual sessions offer a more in-depth space to prepare for or integrate psychedelic and non-ordinary experiences within a therapeutic relationship.
This work is not limited to a single conversation. It often unfolds over time—allowing you to return to different parts of your experience, make connections, and gradually integrate what emerged in a way that feels grounded.
Preparation may include clarifying intentions, exploring readiness, and strengthening your ability to stay connected to yourself during the experience.
Integration may involve processing emotional material, making sense of insights or imagery, and working with how the experience intersects with your history, relationships, and patterns.
For individuals with trauma histories or more complex inner experiences, this space can also support stabilization, pacing, and meaning-making, so that the experience does not become overwhelming or disconnected from your day-to-day life.

I also offer community-based preparation and integration groups.
These groups are not therapy, but rather shared spaces for reflection, preparation, and support.
They are open to anyone in the community who engages with psychedelic or non-ordinary experiences—whether for therapeutic, spiritual, or personal reasons.
The group setting offers something different from individual work. It allows you to hear how others make sense of their experiences, to feel less alone in your own, and to engage in a space that is grounded in curiosity rather than judgment.
There is no expectation to share, and no pressure to interpret or advise. The focus is on creating a space where experiences can be spoken, held, and explored in a way that feels respectful and contained.
